On April 23, 2021, the defense of the dissertation work by G.Yu. Timoshenko on the topic “Optimization of diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of patients with chronic cholecystitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus, taking into account the role of fibroblast growth factor-19”, performed at the Department of Internal Medicine No. 3 and Endocrinology under the guidance of Doctor of Medical Sciences, prof. Zhuravlyova LV was held at the online meeting of the dissertation council D 64.600.04 at KhNMU.
Official opponents took part in the discussion of the dissertation work: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Fadeenko Galina Dmitrievna, Director of the State Institution “National Institute of Therapy named after L.T. Malaya NAMS of Ukraine”, and Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Fediv Alexander Ivanovich, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Bukovyna State Medical University, Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

On January 18-20, 2021, the Festival of Youth Science “Medicine of the Third Millennium” was held on the basis of Kharkiv National Medical University in a remote format on the platform Zoom Cloud Meetings.
In the section “Internal Medicine” 1st place with the report “Relationship between vitamin D deficiency and the development of sarcopenia in patients with osteoarthritis” resived a representative of the Department of Internal Medicine №3 and endocrinology, 6th year student Olkhovskaya Sofia (supervisor – Ph.D., Professor assistant Oliinyk MO).

On November 23-25, 2020, the International Institutional Accreditation taking place at KhNMU. On November 23, IAAR experts met with guarantors of educational programs and heads of departments as part of this event. Professor Larysa Zhuravlyova also took part in the discussion of topical issues of the educational process.
On November 19, an online meeting of the Academic Council of the University was held. The report of the Director of the Scientific Library Iryna Kyrychok about the state and prospects of information and library support of educational and research work at KhNMU was done.
An assistant of the Department of Internal Medicine №3 and Endocrinology, PhD Sikalo Yuliya Kostiantynivna was invited to discuss the issue, and shared the experience of using information content from Scientific Library of KhNMU during the introduction of distance learning at the university.
Yuliya Kostiantynivna noted the growing importance of the Scientific Library in creating quality e-courses, insofar as the provision of high quality informational and primarily digital content has been and will remain an important component of effective learning.

On May 16, 2020, an online meeting of the ukrainian student scientific society of the department of Internal Medicine № 3 and Endocrinology KhNMU was held by as.prof. PhD Ogneva Olena. Within the topic “Modern non-invasive methods of diagnostic morphological state of liver within chronic disease” modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases were analyzed.
On May 16, 2020, an online meeting of the international student scientific society of the department of Internal Medicine № 3 and Endocrinology KhNMU was held by ass.prof. PhD Rogachova Tetyana. Within the topic “Valvular heart disease” modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of mitral and aortic valvular heart disease were analyzed. In addition to voice explanation of the material, demonstration of text slides with key information, illustrative pictures, the presentation demonstrated short fragments of medical animation, showing the hemodynamics of valvular heart disease and methods of surgical treatment, as well as 1-minute audio recordings of auscultation of the heart in relevant heart defects. The finale of the meeting was a brief analysis of the clinical case from the teacher’s own experience and a discussion on the topic of the meeting with the participation of all present students.
